My Mom flew in on Saturday October 7th thinking I would have the baby at any moment. After contracting for 2 weeks straight we thought he would come early. Little did we know he would take his time! Finally I went to the Dr on Mon the 9th I was still dilated to 3 and 75 percent effaced (for 2 weeks). Since my mom was in town we decided that if he wasn't born by Thursday then we would induce labor. Still nothing. So on Thursday morning I called the hospital at 4am to make sure they had a bed available and they told me to go back to bed...what?! Yeah right, it was like telling a child on Christmas morning Santa hadn't come yet! So luckily they called me back around 5am and told me to come on in. When I go there they started my antibiotic around 6:30 then we just rested. At 8AM they started my Pitocin, 9:30am epidural, 10:30am water broke, and pushed for 3 contractions and he was born at 11:36 am. Justin barely made it back from eating lunch! (But that deserves it's own post) Our sweet little Owen Dean weighed 7 pounds 11 oz and was 22 inches long. This by far was the easiest labor, delivery, and recovery! Went home the next day.
The kids have done great with the adjustment. Drew goes on with life as usual and doesnt have much to do with him. But when he does he always says "hi, little guy" so sweetly! Elle is a big helper just as I suspected and just loves him to pieces.
We are so blessed to have 3 healthy, beautiful Children.
